CISCO - R877669 - Development Test Engineer, Smart Grid - San Jose, CA

Join the Smart Grid BU as a Development Test Engineer.

You will design and implement test systems and infrastructure to verify and assure the roll-out of high-quality products for Smart Grid, one of Cisco’s key initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop test strategies and test plans to ensure software features and hardware platforms meet product requirements.
- Design test bed topology to verify features meet FCS quality.
- Evaluate test tools.
- Write simulation tools when necessary
- Collaborate with ESTG, ARTG, NSSTG and other technology groups to ensure proper testing of our products.
- Establish a test automation environment by leveraging scripts from other BUs and extending them to cover utility specific scenarios and algorithms.

Requirements:

- Hands-on experience with one or more of the LAN/WAN and network layer protocols.
- MSEE/CS combined with 5+ years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7+ yrs related experience.
- Hands-on experience with ATS harness and eARMS.
- Hands-on experience in scripting and automation with TCL and/or GUI-based automation tools.
- Strong debugging capability.
- Hands-on familiarity with test instruments required. Ixia and/or Spirent experience is desirable.
- Experience of white box testing is a plus.
- Experience in testing Linux applications is a plus.
- Having Cisco Certification is a definite plus.
- Demonstrated track record of learning new technologies, creating development test strategy and execution plan.
- Must be an independent, quick learner and possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
