SIP & Call Control Lead Engineer

We have a current opening for a SIP & Call Control Lead Engineer to work in the TelePresence Technology Group.

TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. TelePresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play, and learn.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, and implementation of call control features using the SIP protocol for our TelePresence system. These systems offer an immersive visual and audio environment for virtual meetings. You will design the call flows for communicating with Cisco's Unified Call Manager as well as other SIP proxies. You will give technical direction and help guide the team in designing the behavior of the system including the user interface and system control. You will work with the latest RFC's and standards to implement state of the art SIP implementations.

Requirements:
Detailed knowledge of the SIP protocol through implementation of the protocol
Significant contribution to architecture/design/coding for a shipping SIP-based product.
Ability to architect a protocol implementation after gaining a detailed understanding of underlying platform capabilities.
Fully conversant in SIP, H.323, RTP/RTCP, RTSP and other packet-based telecom protocols.
Experience with C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cross-team collaboration skills.
Ability to lead, guide and direct a team of engineers in developing the best possible solutions
Debug complex SIP call flows with IP packet capture tools
At least 12-15 years experience working in Telecom with 7-10 years working on SIP and related RFC's and H.323

In this position you will be responsible for driving the global product strategy, business plan and product directions for the home TelePresence systems within the Consumer TelePresence Business Unit (CTBU), specifically focused on services business.

Job Responsibilities:
This position is global in scope and reports into the Director of Product Marketing within the Consumer TelePresence Business Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to define and design amazing home TelePresence products with an emphasis on software solutions. You will evangelize home TelePresence throughout the company and with partners. You will work closely business development, engineering and all cross functional teams to develop product plans that support strategic relationships both within and beyond Cisco.

Excellence in product definition, operational business process definition, cloud services, billing, service provider integration and ability to roll up your sleeves as well as lead a cross functional team are keys to managing the business.

Working with market research professionals / sources, you will provide sales, marketing and development teams with relevant, up-to-date intelligence and insights into markets and customers—current and prospective—technology and market trends, and competitive analysis

By sharing market, competitive and customer insights you will ensure that all stakeholders are well equipped to execute marketing plans and launch strategies for your product.

Skills & Qualifications:

This position requires 10 years product marketing experience including product line management responsibility in a leading company in the following industries: CE or Computer hardware; cloud service; SaaS; and billing

Hands-on experience with consumer software as a service (SaaS) and billing are required

7 years industry experience with 3 years direct consumer software experience

Strong abilities in the area of problem solving, quantitative analysis, leadership and cross functional management, i.e. the ability to gain influence and get things done through others.

Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Other languages are a plus.

BA in Communications/Design, BSEE/ME or equivalent. MBA required.
