CISCO - R870850 - Software/Cyber Security Technical Lead, Smart Grid Business Unit - San Jose, CA

Join the Smart Grid BU as a Software/Security Architect.

In this role you will be joining the Smart Grid BU and working with the Development and product teams to define and architect security solutions for Smart Grid products. The individual must have a proven track record of implementing and deploying cyber security solutions.

The individual must have hands-on development experience. Must have the ability to implement and proto-type security solutions being proposed. The candidate must be able to make system level design decisions and trade-off. Broad knowledge of security protocols, applications, methodologies in deploying security standards.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop security solutions for switches, routers and intelligent smart grid devices.
* Ability to implement and proto-type security solutions being proposed in
either C, C++, Python.
• Ability to represent and take a leadership role in standard body and lead
Development team to implement newly adopted security standards
• Evaluate development designs to provide threat analysis as prescribed by CSDL.
• Collaborate with the Documentation team to ensure high quality of end-user documents
• Perform job duties involving knowledge of standard networking theories, concepts, and techniques and application to product development and related disciplines
• Contribute to system level architecture design and write functional and detailed design specifications
• Work with other functional teams such as HW, documentation, field support to ensure product and customer success.
• Participate and lead design reviews of SW and platform design by the team. Ability to energize and mentor junior team members of the team to achieve deliverables.
• Assess competitive products and evolving technologies and apply this knowledge to product roadmap development.

Requirements:

• MSEE/CS combined with 12+ years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 14+ yrs related experience.
• C/C++ software development, preferably in Cisco IOS, Linux or RTOS, delivering multiple successful products to market
* Strong understanding of implementation and practical challenges of
Encryption, 802.1X, Certificate management, 802.1X and other security standards.
• Hands on experience with developing security solutions and strategies for light weigh low-end platforms.
* Very high technical competence, and proven track record for high quality and on time product delivery
• Translate BU level goals into your own and team work assignments
• Solid knowledge of Embedded development environment required
• Experience with switch and router software development methodology
• Proficiency with software test and debugging environment
• Ability to interface with other disciplines including HW engineers
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment
• Ability to stay in sync with key customer requirements and deliver products to meet the requirements, making appropriate trade-offs
