CISCO - R877175 - Senior Network Architect - TelePresence Business Unit

The TelePresence Technology Group (TTG) within Emerging Technologies Business Group (ETBG) is looking for a Senior Network Architect to drive technical architecture and direction for TelePresence Advance Scenario Testing efforts. This critical position will provide leadership and assist in practical implementation of solution architecture for the TelePresence with specific focus on integrating multiple solution infrastructure together with competitive offerings.

TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table and is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play, and learn

This is a highly visible and fast paced role within Cisco and will collaborate with multiple engineering leaders and deliver on our technology commitments. The ideal candidate is a deep technologist with proven track record of building large scalable networks, creative thinker, problem solver, teacher, learner, very comfortable with defining & setting direction.

Responsibilities:
• Generates Architecture Guidance.
• Be able to perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems when appropriate (be able to roll up the sleeves when necessary).
• Define network QA environments for solution testing and design validation.
• Generates network configurations.
• Work closely with automation, deployment, network lab operations teams for enabling advance customer scenario provisioning

Requirements:
• 10 to 12+ years progressive experience in network engineering or service provider engineering graduating to an expert level.
• CCIE
• Requires BS/MS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science discipline.
• Expert level knowledge in network technologies IP internetworking, LAN Switching, Video, VoIP
• Dynamic IP Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Multicast).
• WAN design and protocols (MPLS, TDM, DWDM, SONET).
• Perl and Python.
• LAN technologies driving current and next generation datacenter designs (core switching, load balancing, and security).
• DNS and Global Server Load Balancing technologies.
• Expert in collaboration protocols desired (video, audio, sip, pstn).
• Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
• Large-scale network design skills.
• In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning.
• Good interpersonal skills - verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• While operating as an individual contributor, work with the larger Network engineering team thru influence and credibility.
