CISCO - R879619 - Diagnostic Test Engineer - CTBU - San Jose, CA

The Consumer TelePresence unit of Cisco's Emerging Technologies Business Group is looking for talented and motivated individuals to work with us to expand TelePresence into the home. TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience. TelePresence is one of the recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play, and learn.

Drive the test/DQE strategy and execution of the business unit’s line of products. This role will work across Cisco’s internal groups and with external contract manufacturers and test organizations to ensure that the quality goals of the products are met.

Responsibilities;
- Create a device test strategy for the business unit’s line of products
- Define test plans, test use cases and clear pass/fail criteria
- Perform Testing, fault diagnostics and verification, using
diagnostic software and scripts in thermal chambers.
- Write and execute test plans for board and system level
regression testing, fault diagnosis and analysis.
- Execute test plans for video image quality, using
existing methodology. Log and archive the results.
- Interactively review and improve test plans with the
cross-functional team
- Recording of test data, archival of test reports.
- Have good soldering and trouble shooting skills; familiar
with lab test equipment power supplies, oscilloscope, spectrum Analyzer etc

Requirements;
- 7 to 10 years experience with high-volume, Consumer Electronics product testing
- Creative and strong problem solving capabilities
- Having worked with external test labs and off-shore manufacturer.
-Knowledge of end-to-end test life cycle
-Demonstrable knowledge Functional testing, usability testing,
regression testing, performance and load testing.
- Occasional travel will be required, both domestically and internationally (10% annually)

Education:
BS degree plus 5 years or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional trouble shooting skills.
