Technical Marketing Engineer

    Cisco is seeking a Technical Product Marketing Engineer specific to Cisco’s Security Technology Group. This candidate must be able to with the field and indirect channels to communicate technical solutions or service function and features and to drive sales and provide project requirements to PM Assists with critical accounts in keeping a current account or closing a prospect. Develops and delivers complex technical presentations. Provides systems level competitive analysis.

    Typically requires BSCS or BSEE or equivalent plus 7-10 years related experience.

    •Experience in tradeshow support, knowledge of routing protocol and the competitive marketplace.
    •Highly proficient and thorough understanding of product marketing engineering tools and techniques.
    •Thorough understanding of networking technology, security, and strong technical knowledge of company products.
    •Good presentation skills and interpersonal skills.
    •Experience in building and designing large multi-protocol inter-networks.
    •Demonstrate industry awareness.
    •Works with limited supervision in defining initial goals and addressing complex issues as they arise.
    •Identifies inter-BU issues and escalates as necessary.
    •May independently make decisions and reviews complex decisions with manager.
    •Work is reviewed upon completion for accomplishment of objectives.
    •Outstanding ability to work cross-functionally (Team/BU) and with customers.
    •Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing and delivering complex technical presentations.
    •Ability to train and mentor.
    •Projects are BU-specific and could also be involved with cross-BU projects.
    •Typically reports to Technical Marketing Manager.
    •Accountable to direct manager, PM Directors and engineering Directors within BU responsibility as well as other relevant BUs.
    •Maintains leadership role within Product teams. Interacts with direct manager, PM and Engineering Directors within BU responsibility as well as other relevant business partners.
    •Strategic: BU solution.
    •Understands and solves complex technical problems.
    •Understands the inter-BU dependencies and develops an action plan to address the problem.
    •Works with PM and the field to understand and position competitive issues at the system level.
    •Communicate and influence effectively
    •Ability to solve problems
    •Teamwork and partnerships.
    •Achieve cross-BU influence and relevancy Time/Project management
    •Ability to multitask Champion Improvements Plan, react and anticipate Inter-group, Inter-BU technical leadership.
