Software/QA Engineer
Responsibilities:
The Test Engineer participates as a lead on a project team of engineers involved in the release and test of software and/or Hardware , including test strategy, planning, execution, and automation, as well as may include any of the following list of responsibilities:
- Participate in beta coordination with other builds and regression testing of the software.
- Define comprehensive test strategy based on evolving and changing product specifications.
- Interface with internal and external contacts to understand customer problems and requirements and provide raw material for training and documentation.
- Coordinate the process of formal certification through internal test labs.
- Certify software release for general availability to customers.
- Partner with Development Engineers to debug complex problems.
- Ensure sufficient negative test coverage in product test plans.
- Design product and regression test strategy.
- Lead the development of test automation.
- Coordinate and/or lead cross-platform test efforts.
- Participate and/or take a lead role in Cisco''s Patent Program.
Required skills:
* 5+ years Technical Leadership
* 5+ years Quality systems and process knowledge
* 5+ years Perl, TCL and/or C experience
* 5+ years Internetworking knowledge
* 5+ years Network Security knowledge, ie. Firewalling, IPSEC, Intrusion Protection.
Desired skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communications
* Innovator and change agent
* Strong influencing ability with peers and managers built on a collaborative style
* Solution and results orientation
* Training and mentoring team members
* Certification, i.e. CCIE, CCNP, CCNA
