Software/QA Engineer

IronPort product lines utilize SenderBase®, the world’s largest threat detection database, enabling powerful security measures that are easy to deploy and manage.
Responsibilities:
The QA Engineer will be responsible for assessing the quality of IronPort's Email Security Appliance. The ESA is an enterprise level appliance responsible for providing email security, high availability, massive performance and ease of use to mail administrators. Possessing strong QA testing experience the QA Engineer will assist in the coordination of marketing and design requirements for new features to be added to the application. They will subsequently validate the design and proper functionality upon implementation. They must write and execute detailed test suites to provide thorough coverage of features. They will be required to obtain or create the necessary tools to facilitate his responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have experience in a time-to-market sensitive environment, and will be adept at risk assessment and test prioritization. Candidate will be an independent self-starter who can multi-task across projects and effectively organize under tight deadlines.
Required Experience and Skills:
•Must Have Server-Side, UNIX Based, Network Product QA Experience
•Minimum of 4 years experience in QA
•Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking
•Strong command of some UNIX variant
•Working knowledge of SMTP
•Proven track record of developing test plans from engineering specifications and product marketing documents
•Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Must utilize these skills to communicate effectively across all groups in the organization.
Desired Skills:
•Working knowledge of SNMP, LDAP schemas
•FreeBSD
•Python
•Knowledge of SMTP
•General programming or scripting experience
•White/Grey box testing
